This is the gathering, so the person you pay for judgement isn’t also being paid to chase you for receipts. Nothing here is tax advice — get your own position confirmed by someone qualified. Every employee lands paused, and you choose which accounts it can use.
Who it’s for
Anyone inside the Construction Industry Scheme, and sole-director limited companies keeping their own records. CIS is wider than most people expect: it covers building work, alterations, repairs, decorating, groundwork, landscaping, demolition, and installing heating, lighting, air conditioning and CCTV. In our own list of 799 UK trade companies, 9 of the 21 trades were CIS-liable — 360 companies, 45% of the list.
The return is due on the 19th of every month, the date doesn’t move for a weekend or a bank holiday, and it is £100 the day it is late. Questions people ask
Does it connect to Xero or QuickBooks?
No. The accounting connectors are not working, and we’d rather tell you than let you find out. It works from the records you hand it — files, exports, a spreadsheet, photographs of receipts.
Does it file my CIS return?
No. It gathers the month’s records into one pack. Filing stays with you or your accountant, and the CIS deadline is still the 19th.
Does it do my tax return, or tell me what I owe?
No, and nothing it produces is tax advice. It does the gathering. Judgement, filing and signing anything off stay with the person you pay for them.
My books are a shoebox. Is that a problem?
That’s the case it’s for. It reads what you give it rather than asking you to retype a year into something new first.
Can I use it for MTD quarters as well as CIS months?
The period is yours to set. A month, a quarter or a year — the job is the same: the records for that period, in one place.
Does it chase my customers as well?
